July's Stone of the Month: Picture Jasper

Picture Jasper is formed from mud that dripped into gas pockets in molten lava and harden immediately. Picture Jasper is often called a rock instead of a mineral because it is actually petrified mud.

The word Jasper comes from the Greek word iaspis, which means "Spotted Stone." Jaspers come in many shades and colors. Picture Jasper is known for being shades of beige to dark chocolate brown and has lines and spots that resemble scenes in nature.

Picture Jasper helps with visualization, awareness and harmony. It is a great stone for businesses and encourages success and releases knowledge into the conscious. It is believed to alleviates fear, stress and anxiety.
